The era of wedding seasons has come and gone and now there are no set months depending on ‘ saayas’ that are wedding heavy so to say.

More and more people are shifting towards summer wedding and why shouldn’t they?

There’s more availability of options, less traffic on the roads, cheaper rentals, and a million more places that you can go for your honeymoon!

But with this comes the conundrum of what to wear to a summer wedding that you’re attending? Most of the Indian wear outfits and designs are heavy enough to make a grown man drown, and even thinking of wearing those to a summer wedding makes you want to shed your clothes and dive into a pool!

But fret not! We’ve got here a handpicked collection of outfit inspirations that will make other women green with envy at every party you go to.

1) Off Shoulder/Cold Shoulder

Show off those sculpted collar bones in the hottest trend of the season – off shoulders! The beauty of this style is that you can incorporate it in any outfit – Anarkali, a lehenga or just a basic cape.

2) Palazzo Pants with Tanks & capes

Beat the heat and stay cool at your best friend’s Mehendi function in stylish fully draped palazzo pants and a cami top. If not a cami, you can pair them with a net or georgette cape as well.

3) Cape and skirt

The evergreen cape is back this season! It’s versatile, it’s trendy and the best part is that it eliminates the need of carrying a dupatta in this hot sticky weather.

4) Saree with a twist

Ditch the old boring saree and turn heads wherever you go by giving a twist to your mom’s old saree. Whether a structured saree like Sonam Kapoor or a kaftan saree like Nikhil Thampi’s, this is one trend we can’t stop gushing over! Pair with stylish, designer blouses, and you’re set to go!

5) Cape with Dhoti

Show off your eclectic side with stylish dhoti pants! This is one style that suits all body types, whether with a short cape or a long cape. Wear it to a cocktail party or a small engagement function and you’re sorted.

6) Blue Hue

The hottest colour of the season is blue and shades of blue like Indigo. Add a dash of blue and Indigo to your wardrobe and stay cool in this hot weather.

7) Draped Anarkali

We cannot stop crushing over this outfit! Everything about it screams perfection, the draped style, the micro pleats and the gorgeous mint green colour. Stop thinking and buy this now!

I really liked the cape and skirt fashion and it is interesting to note that it is even been added to the bridal wear. I am interested in how blue can be incorporated into dresses for weddings and ceremonial occasions. It would be great if you can let me know more of the cape and lehenga styles.
