While the Sunday Brunch might be seen as a relatively new concept in India, the tradition dates as far back as 120 years! That’s right, this ‘fad’ began in America in 1896, giving millions ever since an excuse to sleep in on their day off, and still be able to feast on delicious eggs benedict and French toast.
Today, brunch is more popular than ever. It’s a wonderful and delicious way to spend quality time with your beau, girlfriends, or family. But often choosing the right outfit for the occasion gets quite confusing. You don’t want your outfit to be too formal or too casual; the ideal thing to do is to find a balance between the two.
So, what should you wear for brunch? Simply follow these tips:
Ditch The Jeans
While you don’t have to dig out your party dress, jeans are way too casual for brunch. Sunday Brunches are all about being chic yet casual. So, look for a flirty sundress or a cute denim skirt or floral shorts to celebrate the weekend in style.
Befriend The Colour Scheme
While whites are quite popular at Brunch, they are quite easy to stain. There’s a host of other colours you can choose from instead. Think spring/summer colours: light pinks, lilacs, sky blues, tangerines, mint greens, or pastel yellows.
Love Your Hair
If you have medium to long hair, wearing a high top bun or a whimsical fishtail braid will help you nail your look. If you have short hair, you can wear it down; just dig out your favourite hair accessories to hold it out of your face. Giving your tresses a slight curl at the ends or towards the front will complete your hairstyle.
Don’t Forget To Accessorise
Now this is the fun part, but the key is to choose one or two items and not go overboard! You can either go for a pair of statement earrings, pair a simple pendant necklace with small jewelled earrings, or cute bracelets and bangles to accessorise. If you like hats, you might want to finish your look with one–there’s no better excuse to wear a hat than brunch!
Put Your Best Foot Forward
While you might be tempted to go for your black high heels, opt instead for pastel coloured heels that would match your look. A pair of nude pumps are the way to go, and should be staple in every closet! You can also go with a pair of tan sandals or loafers.
Don’t reach out for your holdall when you’re ready to go! Carry a small purse instead with enough room for your phone, keys, wallet, and lipstick. That’s all you’re going to need, anyway! Choosing a satchel or a clutch might be the way to go 🙂
Have an amazing brunch!
